This may not be the first post in the blog, but it is the first official one (whatever that means). The short version is:Welcome to -ism blog : Internet is Serious MemeAnd now for the long version: For some time, I have been contemplating making some sort of blog thing where I can write about whatever. There are a couple of other creative outlets for me on this site, but they all are more-or-less structured, and definitely have some sort of restrictions on what goes in them. Not so here. About the titleThe phrase 'internet is serious meme' has been floating around my head for about a month. It is, of course, a pun on 'internet is serious business'. The other day in Not Qwantz I had an alt-text alternate ending where T-Rex said the phrase. But I liked it way too much to just have it be used as a b-side of a parody/tribute to Dinosaur Comics. I decided it would be the perfect name for a blog. The fact that its initials are ISM was a happy accident. It is by no means a backronym. In fact, the initial title of this blog was just 'Internet is Serious Meme', but when I noticed the ISM thing, I prepended '-ism blog' to the title. What's next?Over the next couple of days, I'll probably have a few more 'About' type entries, introducing various parts of the site, etc., as I intend this blog to also function as the main 'news' section of tl-dr.org. After that ... who knows? Certainly not me. We'll see if there's any actual content. I come up with rants about stuff in my head all of the time, but I'm not sure if they'd translate well online.
