| More info has finally surfaced about the Omar / Zach Hill collab. The band is apparently called "El Grupo Nuevo de Omar Rodriguez-Lopez", and the album is called "Cryptomnesia". There is a youtube vid containing clips from songs on the album here. It has Cedric on vocals, Juan on bass, and also That Guy From Hella. (Whatever his name is. I should probably know this, but I don't.) It sounds pretty sick. "And I know you really want to tell me what it is you fucking think." Update at 9 AM:
Apparently the album is actually called "Cryptomnesia I", maybe? There were supposedly two Zach Hill collabs, so that would make sense. Unless they pull a Gödel with his Über formal unentscheidbare Sätze der Principia Mathematica und verwandter Systeme I. Probably not that many people will get that reference, but that's okay. I'm writing this blog mainly for myself, so yeah. Hopefully we'll be seeing a "Cryptomnesia II", probably this year, unless they decided to pull an Ataxia with their "Automatic Writing" and "AW II" released three years apart. Okay, that's enough obscure references for/from me. |
